Optimum Health helps people take the first step to a healthy lifestyle
Laziness isn’t the only reason people don’t exercise. Some are uncomfortable with their weight, embarrassed or intimidated to work out side by side with buff exercise veterans. Others just don’t know what type of routine best suits their health needs.
Those among the reasons Gerald Erickson opened Optimum Health and Exercise Therapy.
“What we’re trying to do is make a difference in people’s lives before they get to the stage where their lifestyle is severely compromised” said Erickson, a board certified exercise therapist who for 15 years was the medical, support and rehabilitation director of a facility for the geriatrics. “I’ve seen the end result of not taking time out for your health and it can be very sad” Erickson added.
The program at Optimum Health combines: fitness training, exercise therapy, injury management, referral chiropractic care, massage therapy, and The Erickson Method to Athletic Success a program for improving sports performance. “Many clients have old nagging injuries or hypertension, diabetes, and arthritis. They have doctor’s instructions to exercise, but they never really exercised before and don’t know where to start” Erickson said of his clients. “They’re a little afraid about going into a gym because they don’t know what they’re doing. What we’re trying to do is have all services that might be needed set up in a place where they feel comfortable… it’s a little like exercising in your own living room, only on a larger scale.”
In addition, our sports specific training program, known as the Optimum Health Sports Training Academy, has truly turned good players into county and state champions.
